When pressed by the media, the duo often mumbled that they were just friends though their body chemistry belied the feelings they had for each other. Now, the cat has sprung out of the bag in the most unexpected way. Of all people, it’s the English batsman Kevin Pietersen who has unwittingly revealed the truth about the couple’s relationship status.
Kevin had lunch with the couple recently and later on tweeted: “Just had a lovely lunch with Sidhartha Mallya & his girlfriend Deepika Padukone.”
Deeps and Sid were earlier spotted enjoying the India-England world cup match in Bangalore on Sunday. The duo has apparently been together for a year now.
