Sushmita Sen is the original diva – attractive, witty, charming and living life on her terms. Her ‘essence of a woman’ answer won her the Miss Universe title, the first for an Indian. She adopted a baby against all odds becoming a single mother and is unapologetic about the men she dates or leaves.

Basics on Sush
Sushmita Sen is a Bengali, born on 19th November 1975 in Hyderabad, India. Her father is Shubeer Sen who worked as an Indian Air Force Wing Commander. Her mother Subhra Sen is a jewelry designer and also owns a store in Dubai called Renee. She has a brother, Rajeev and a sister, Neelam. She has lived in Nagpur, Jorhat and New Delhi. She studied at the Air Force Golden Jubilee Institute and Air Force Silver School in New Delhi. She studied English and also holds a degree in journalism.Standing tall at 5.10” she entered the Femina Miss India contest. She won the title though Aishwarya Rai was expected to win it. She became the first Indian woman to win the Miss Universe title in 1994. She decided to adopt a child which wasn’t an easy task as she is unmarried and involved legal hassles. She officially adopted a girl Renee in 2000.
Sush has dated Manav Menon, Randeep Hooda, Sabeer Bhatia and many others.

Sushmita Sen’s Movies
1996 to 2000 Sushmita Sen’s first movie was Dastak in 1996 in which she is harassed by a stalker. It wasn’t a big success. Zor in 1997 was also an average performer. She made her debut the same year in a Tamil movie, Ratchagan which did well.

In 1999, she landed roles in Sirf Tum, Hindustan Ki Kasam and the comedy Biwi No.1. She played Rupali, an ambitious model in the latter looking for a rich man. She won the Filmfare Best Supporting Actress Award. She put in an appearance in the movie Fiza (2000) with the song “Mehboob Mere”.

2001 to 2005 The year 2001 saw her in the song sequence “Shaka Laka Baby” in Nayak and Madhalvan. She starred in Bas Itna Sa Khwaab Hai (2001) as Lara Oberoi with Rani Mukherji and Abhishek Bacchan. The movie failed at the box office.n 2002, she took on the role of a teacher at a blind school in the moderately successful Aankhen with Amitabh Bacchan, Akshay Kumar, Arjun Rampal and Paresh Rawal. In Rakhee Gulzaar’s Filhaal (2002) she played a surrogate mother.
While Samay: When Time Strikes, Pran Jaye Par Shaan Na Jaye, Paisa Vasool in 2004 didn’t fare well, her saree-clad professor Chandni role in Main Hoon Na had the audience asking for more.Kalpana Lajmi’s Chingari (2004) cast her as a prostitute who wreaks havoc when her lover is killed. She worked with Salman Khan again in David Dhawan’s Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya which was a hit.

2006 to 2009 She played the role of a rock star in Tanuja Chandra’s Zindaggi Rocks (2006) and Durga in Ram Gopal Varma Ki Aag (2007). Both movies struck an average note at the box office.

Sushmita Sen will be seen next in Karma, Confessions and Holi which stars Naomi Campbell, Drena De Niro, Rati Agnihotri among others. Do Not Disturb and Marmayogi are two other movies the actress will be seen in. She is also in talks about a movie on the slain Benazir Bhutto.

Amrita Rao’s birthday is on the 7th of June. She was born in 1981 in Mumbai. Her father is Deepak Rao who runs an advertising agency. Her mother tongue is Konkani.
She studied at C.G. High School and later graduated with a degree in Psychology from Sophia College.
Besides working in ads and films, Amrita has to her credit the Dada Saheb Phalke Award. She is also the muse of the bare-footed artist M.F.Hussain.

Her first brush with the cameras was when she worked in the Fairever Face Cream ad while still in college. It was followed by Nestle Bru Coffee, Cadbury’s Perk, Close-Up, Parachute Hair Oil, Domino’s Pizza, Wriggly’s Chewing Gum, Pantene and Clean & Clear facewash, to name a few. She’s also the brand ambassador for D’Damas gold jewelry.It was hardly surprising that she was noticed by Ken Ghosh who offered her a role in Ishq Vishq.
New Roles
Amrita’s debut was with Raj Babbar’s son, Arya Babbar, in Ab Ke Baras which released in 2002 followed by a cameo in The Legend of Bhagat Singh. She shot to stardom in 2003 with the release of Ishq Vishq with Shahid Kapoor, and she won a nomination for the Filmfare Best Debut Award for her role as struck-by-cupid Payal Mehra.
In 2004, she was part of the multi-starrer Main Hoon Na with Shah Rukh Khan, Zayed Khan and Sushmita Sen. She was nominated for the Filmfare Best Supporting Actress Award. Her films in 2005, Vaah! Life Ho Tho Aisi and Shikhar didn’t get a good reception at the box office. Vivah in 2006, with Shahid Kapoor, became one of the biggest commercial successes of the year.
Bollywood didn’t see a lot of Amrita Rao in 2007, except for a brief appearance in a song in Heyy Babyy. She did a Telugu film Athidhi with Mahesh Babu, which was a big success down south.
Her 2008 releases include My Name is Anthony Gonsalves with Mithun Chakraborthy, Lilette Dubey and Nikhil Dwivedi which didn’t do well. Her performance as Kamala in Shyam Benegal’s comedy Welcome to Sajjanpur was praised and the film enjoyed rave reviews.

Priyanka Chopra was born on 18th July 1982 to the family of Capt. Dr. Ashok
Chopra & Dr. Madhu Chopra, an event that transformed the life of every one around her. This first born girl child of a large extended family was welcomed like a star. With large twinkling eyes and the most fascinating smile she was a winner.

Priyanka had a very varied upbringing . Having joined an Army family, she
moved from Leh-ladakh in the north to Kerala in the south from Bombay in the west to Jamshedpur in the East . She imbibed the ethos of the multicultural Indian society. A family favorite she grew up in the warmth & Love offered by her grandparents, aunts & uncles. All of this went into the making of a very warm, loving & confident personality.

She started her Education from La Martiniere Girls College in Lucknow as a
resident student, A short stay at Maria Goretti College in Bareilly prepared
her for further studies in the USA. Having completed class 10th from Boston USA
she decided to become a software Engineer or a Criminal Psychologist. Suddenly life took change with the Femina Miss India contest, which she won with aplomb.

HOBBIES:
Have been varied at different times. Singing & Writing poetry has
been her all times favourite. She started performing at musical shows since
three years of age along with her father & uncle , who are both singers of
great repute.

AMBITIONS:
She aims for the stars after completing her education. She intends
taking up a social cause closest to her heart. She is a movie Buff and would
love to join the galaxy if a good offer comes.

ACHIEVEMENTS:
1. The only Indian in USA to have been selected at state level for the National opus Honour choir.

2. Extensive charity work back in India & USA
a. Joined the CAF & CII in their literacy programme and is their ambassadors.

b. Member of the support group for the thalassaemic children in U.P., India.

c. Participated in the Adult education awareness program with the NGO's
in the peripheral areas of Bareilly.

d. Joined the Indian Govt. sponsored Polio Eradication Programme as a volunteer.
